What is sedation dentistry?
Sedation dentistry is one of the ways we strive to help each of our patients have a comfortable, enjoyable experience at our office. Sedation dentistry is the use of sedative medications to help you relax and feel calm during your dental treatment. We understand that many patients suffer from some degree of dental phobia, and our caring dentist and dental team are committed to doing all we can to alleviate your fears and help you feel confident in your care.
What is oral sedation?
Oral sedation is a form of sedation dentistry that involves taking a prescribed pill before your appointment. By taking the pill about half an hour to an hour before your visit, you will feel relaxed and at ease by the time you come to our office for your treatment. While oral sedation will not make you unconscious, you may feel so comfortable that you fall asleep during your treatment. You may also not remember certain parts of your visit. We ask that you have a friend or family member available to drive you to and from our office for your appointment.
